Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) Nutrition Support

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) is a complex, debilitating condition that affects every individual differently. Navigating the route to recovery can feel like a minefield, particularly when symptoms vary so widely and there is no single approach that works for everyone.

Having recovered from ME/CFS myself, I understand first-hand the physical and emotional challenges of living with the condition. My own recovery showed me just how important nutrition, lifestyle and mindset can be in supporting health, improving quality of life and helping people navigate the complexities of living with ME/CFS. You can read more about my recovery journey in the first chapter of my book.

That experience inspired me to become a Registered Nutritionist and Naturopath. Today, I combine lived experience with evidence-based nutrition, functional testing and personalised lifestyle strategies to support individuals with ME/CFS, post-viral fatigue and Long Covid through my virtual nutrition and naturopathy clinic, supporting clients worldwide.

Every consultation is tailored to the individual because no two experiences of ME/CFS are the same. Together, we explore the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms and develop a personalised plan designed to optimise your health, improve your quality of life and support your recovery journey.

NLP Practitioner

From my own journey and that of my various clients, I found that one of the missing pieces of the jigsaw puzzle to recovery from M.E / CFS is exploring psychological change. NLP (also known as neurolinguistic programming) is a brain re-modelling approach which looks to elicit positive physiological responses using the mind and body connection. We work to put the body into a healing state, helping to facilitate recovery. More on NLP here.

Master Practitioner  (BPS)

A qualification I believe all Nutritionists should have. In M.E / CFS, sometimes an elimination diet can be an effective protocol. Yet more often than not, food phobias can arise, where people fear certain foods that may exacerbate their symptoms. I am trained with the National Centre for Eating Disorders in order to ensure my clients maintain a healthy relationship towards food when embarking on specific protocols to target their health condition.

In short, I believe your journey to recovery from CFS requires a 360-degree holistic approach which covers both diet, lifestyle and mindset. I am able to look at every angle holistically rather than treat each part of the body or symptoms in isolation. By knowing and engaging with your full health profile, I will help you to achieve results.

Post-viral Fatigue & Long-covid

Many cases of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) develop following a viral infection, commonly referred to as post-viral fatigue. Whilst not everyone with ME/CFS has a post-viral onset, viral infections are recognised as one of the most common triggers.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has also been growing recognition of Long Covid, with many individuals experiencing persistent fatigue, post-exertional malaise (PEM), brain fog, sleep disturbances and other symptoms that can overlap with those seen in ME/CFS.

Whether your symptoms began following COVID-19 or another viral illness, understanding the similarities and differences between these conditions can help inform a personalised and evidence-based approach to supporting your health and recovery.
